Trading basics

Three foundations before any platform screenshot

Every serious study of a trading platform rests on the same three pillars. Learn them in order and the rest of the industry's vocabulary stops being intimidating.

How a platform works

A trading platform is three systems in one interface

Price display, order routing and position bookkeeping. Each layer introduces cost, latency or discretion — and each one is worth documenting separately.

  • Price layer. Whose liquidity is quoted, and how spreads widen when that liquidity thins.
  • Routing layer. Dealing desk, pass-through or hybrid — and what the execution policy actually discloses.
  • Accounting layer. Margin level, stop-out thresholds, swap charges and negative balance protection.

Compounding scenario calculator

A teaching tool for understanding how compounding maths behaves. It is not a forecast, and no result here is achievable or guaranteed in live markets.

Leverage magnifies losses at the same rate it magnifies gains. Most retail accounts trading leveraged products lose money.
